Studying Mandarin. It comes back easily, but I'm not sure whether I've yet reached my previous highwater mark... feel like I'm remembering stuff, with better instincts than before, but I don't think I'm learning anything new yet. That's my main emphasis for awhile, though.
I just saw the final Katsu Zatoichi film... revelation... this was directed in 1989 by Shintaro Katsu himself. It doesn't advance the story arc any, but the execution of that story line -- the music, the camera, the colors, the density of detail -- amazing. I was often running about 50% understanding what I was hearing, too.
Current goal: Get proficient in written and spoken Mandarin, while not losing touch with Korean, Japanese, Cantonese, or other languages.
Longitude of eventual domicile: still not sure, waiting to learn a little more about the work situation.
